Good Morning. You would have heard of BDotNet if you are in Bangalore & you are a .NET developer. If you have not come across BDotNet let me tell you something about BDotNet. BDotNet stands for Bangalore .NET User Group. BDotNet has been in existence from last 12 years in Bangalore. BDotNet is one of the premiere user group in .NET space and is also one of the largest & most active user groups in India. We meet monthly once at Microsoft campus (EGL) here in Bangalore. I have been actively involved with BDotNet from 2010 onwards. Thanks to my job, community is one of my charter in my work and i help BDotNet conduct the UG meets & full day events. If you are excited by reading about BDotNet, why not join us. Joining is simple – just navigate to the following address in a browser : http://www.facebook.com/groups/bdotnet. Once you are there, just click on Join. I am the admin and i will approve your request. That’s as simple as it get to become a BDotNetter.
I take this moment to announce our premiere event we have put together next month. Let me introduce you to “WebEd 2014 – Providing Web Education to Community”. Yes this is a full day event with lunch and is completely focused on ASP.NET technology and nothing else. You might ask why the name “WebEd” – well myself and Vic Parmar who is one the UG leads for Bangalore .NET User Group – when discussing had this wild and crazy idea of taking over “TechEd”. See i told you its a wild and crazy idea of ours. The name was decided over a phone call and we started preparing some 3 months back. And i happy to announce that on Jun 14 2014, we will have a day long event focused exclusively on ASP.NET with 2 tracks, 12 sessions and 12 speakers. We are thankful to Microsoft who is our Primary sponsor to have given us the venue and all the other facilities at the Venue. This event will be held at their EGL campus.
I am excited about WebEd because the mandate we laid out for ourselves was to make this event a premiere event on par with any big Tech Events in India. Myself, Vic Parmar and our Microsoft counterpart Tulika Chaudharie are the chair or directors of WebEd. We have spent numerous hours of phone calls and emails to make sure we are giving you guys the best in the town. For the first time in BDotNet history we brainstormed for the topics, did lots of discussion as to what topic should be selected, what topic suits the best for today’s scenario and who should be the speakers for this event. A lot of hard work and home work has gone in to shaping this event. We believe you will like the sessions we have lined up for you and also the speakers. We have some exceptional speakers from Microsoft and from the Community itself. As a chair or directors of this event it was so hard for us as to which topic we should include and which ones we should let go. At the end of the day we wanted to make sure that we give you what is apt for today in ASP.NET technology. Web has moved a lot and we hope to provide you an insight into where it is now and where it is heading.
I would like to now open the registration for the event. Please head over to the following event site:
Note: We have a very limited attendee capacity at the venue. We can support only 200 folks with food. From all of us its a sincere request to you – do not register if you are not sure of attending the event. Give somebody who is on their toes to be in this event a chance. So take a moment, look at your calendar, look at your personal calendar and then decide if you would like to go ahead and register. Ticket is free of cost – but you need to register to attend the event.
Coming to the sessions we have lined up for you at the event, here are some of the topics:
- One ASP.NET – Why Upgrade your Projects
- Why Upgrade to ASP.NET MVC 5
- Real Time LOB Apps using ASP.NET
- Going Beyond Chat Demo with SignalR
- Angular Vs Knockout – Showdown
- One Identity in ASP.NET – What, Why, How
Well these are some of the sessions lined up. You can get the full list on the event website.
Also some of the speakers we have lined up for the event are as follows:
To know the full speaker line up go over to our event website.
At this moment, i would like to call out a design agency which helped us in putting up the event website. We reached out Infigo Labs, a design agency in Bangalore and wanted to explore if they can build us a event website for free. As we are a not for profit group, we literally run on sponsorships and hence we approached Infigo Labs and asked them if they could build the site. The generously offered to build the web site without a penny and we are thankful to them. So if you like the event website, go pay a visit to infigo labs website here: http://www.infigolabs.com.
So what are you waiting for, go ahead and register yourself. Spread the word. Lets make this event a big success and lets make it a full house. So see you all on Jun 14 at the event. By the way i am presenting too, so dont forget to sit thru my talk :).
Till next time – Happy Coding. Code with Passion, Decode with Patience.
