Today I am back with one more episode of Uncut & Unedited. This episode, my guest is Mr. Harish Ranganathan, a Developer Evangelist – Microsoft India. I was able to catch hold of Harish in Bangalore when he was here for Web Camps. I have seen Harish speaking at various occasions which range from TechEd to Virtual Tech Days to Web Camps. I consider him as one of the authorities on ASP.NET technology.

In this episode I ask Harish the following questions:

  • His roles and responsibilities as Dev Evangelist in Microsoft.
  • Particular area that Harish works on
  • His take on ASP.NET vNext
  • His perspective on Web Matrix
  • His take on HTML5
  • Regarding IE10 Platform Preview
  • As an Evangelist, he needs to travel a lot – does he like it or hate it

Here is the interview:

Harish Ranganathan – Developer Evangelist, Microsoft India – Uncut & Unedited

Thanks to Harish for giving his time in-spite of his busy schedule for my show. I had always seen him from distance but had a chance to meet him in person. Had a great time interviewing Harish and was really blow away by him jovial nature which is very evident in the interview.

Listen and enjoy the interview. Do let me know any feedback you may have.

As usual, Happy Coding. Code with Passion, Decode with Patience.

  • Not sure why Microsoft spends times with WebForm in ASP.NET vNext.. I strongly go with MVC approach.. That’s really a great thing

I’m sure if one worked with ASP.NET MVC , they will never comeback and work in ASP.NET Webform

    • Mind you … even today Web Forms is the quickest way to develop certain things … drag n drop goes a long way. And now the goodies of MVC like routing and all is being applied to web forms too :)

      • I agree with the rapid development in Webform approach.. However when it comes to test-ability its impossible with the Presentation and the Controller coupled each other.. There are pros and cons we have to look into , however this will not work for an enterprise applications though we have lots of products/applications currently running , The really difficult comes when we are doing some enhancements or maintaining it.

As you said MVC like routing can be applied to Webform but still its only for routing and nothing much we will again out of it.

  • I was very pleased to find this site.I wanted to thank you for this
