As mentioned in my previous post Microsoft has come out with first of its kind – award for the community from the community – known as “2010 Niney Awards”. Go through my previous post for more information.

Today lets look at the first category which is “Favourite Channel 9 Show (Video)”. In the category there are a total of 11 nominations. Lets go through one by one:

    This is an excellent show to know anything related to WCF and Workflow. I am a big fan of Ron Jacobs. His screencasts are a fun to watch. Excellent recoding and content as well. So do check out and vote for this show if you like this

  • Silverlight TV
    imageThis show is hosted by John Papa. Those of you who saw Silverlight Fire Starter 2011 would remember John Papa. Excellent sessions on Silverlight 5 by John. This show is all about Silverlight and its surroundings. Currently this show has around 60 episodes. Here is the official description about the show:

    I like this show very much as John Papa tries to get the latest and greatest from the behind the scenes in Silverlight arena. I am definitely voting for this show. So do check out this show and vote if you like it.

  • The Knowledge Chamberimage

    I haven’t heard about this show so far. This is the first time i am hearing about this show – thanks to the Niney awards and the voting survey. This show is hosted by Robert Hess. By day he is a technology evangelist and by night is a cocktail evangelist. An interesting evangelism that i have come across so far. Currently this show has around 38 episodes. This show is primarily to interact with developers, PM and others who explain the Microsoft technologies. Here is the official description of the show:

    Join Robert Hess, as he meets with the developers, program managers, and others who are integral in the process of Robert Hessexplaining Microsoft technologies to others. These episodes will primarily be lead-ups to the presentations at our MIX and PDC events, providing people with insights and details as to what some of these sessions will cover.

    Seems like a very insightful show. I am for sure is gonna check out this session and decide on voting. If you think name is interesting then do check out the show.

    If you are not familiar with network terminologies – Ping is a process in which we try to see if a system is available for communication or not on the network. So Ping tries to bring us the communication happening within Microsoft. This show is hosted by Laura Foy and Paul M. The official description of the show is:

    Laura and Paul give you the inside scoop on what Microsofties are pinging each other about over IM, email, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

    The show is usually about 15 minutes and seems to be filled with fun. I am going to check out the show and vote.

  • .Hot Apps


    As the name suggests, this show is all about knowing the hottest apps out there in the marketplace for Windows Phone 7.  Windows Phone 7 is the latest windows phone offering from Microsoft. This show is hosted by Laura Foy. Currently with 10 episodes, here is the official description of the show:

    Give her 5 minutes, she’ll give you 5 Hot Apps! Laura gives you her selections for the weeks hottest apps for Windows Phone 7.

  • Going Deep


    As the name says – Going Deep – this show seems to be a show which goes deeper into things such as architecting and inner working of core Microsoft technologies. Believe me when i say it has been a decade but i have never been aware of such shows from Microsoft. Thanks to Niney awards now atleast i know that there are such shows. This show is hosted by Charles Torre. This has a total of 213 episodes at the time of writing this article. Lots of stuff here. Here is the official description of the show:

    Charles Torre travels around Microsoft to meet the company’s leading Architects and Engineers to discuss the inner workings of our core technologies. Going CharlesDeep is primarily concerned with how things work, why they are designed the way they are, and how they will evolve over time.   • Web Camps TV


    This show is all about Microsoft Web technology stack. This is a show hosted by James Senior. One of my favourite shows. Currently it has around 18 episodes. Here is the official description of the show:

    Web Camps TV gets you closer James Seniorto the Microsoft Web Platform with exclusive interviews and demos from the guys that make it easy for you to create rock star web applications.  Join your guide, James Senior, as he talks to the product teams in Redmond as well as those in the web community

    This show is a gold mine for people working on web technology. The Web Camps are sometime held as in person events all over the world and beamed live as a stream. I am going to vote for this for sure. So do check out this show.

  • Inside Windows Phone

    One of the coolest show that is around now. Yes this show is where you get to know all about the latest buzz in the mobile area – Windows Phone 7. This show is hosted by Jaime Rodriguez and Yochay Kiriaty. Currently the show has about 12 episodes and here is what the official description of the show is:

    Get the insiders’ view into all things Windows Phone. Watch  exclusive interviews with the designers, product managers and developers coding the Windows Phone OS and developer platform

XBOX needs no introduction and i hope you know what XBOX is. To re iterate XBOX is a gaming console from Microsoft. This show is all about the XBOX news and content. This show is run by Tina and has around 32 episodes currently. The official description of this show is as follows:

Inside Xbox brings you more than your typical gaming content.  We sit down with game developers, programmers and industry giants to give you an inside look into the world of Xbox.  This show also airs on Xbox Live.

    As the name says – this show brings to us most important news in the developer community. This is a very interesting show in which within 17 minutes a whole lot of information is run through. Currently at 138 episodes the show is run by Brian Keller and Dan Fernandez. Here is the official description of the show:

    Every week Dan Fernandez and Brian Keller from Microsoft sift through hundreds of blogs, videos, and announcements to find the most important news in the developer community. Topics include Microsoft .NET development, Visual Studio tips and add-ons, developing for Windows and the Web, and gratuitous gadgets.

    This is one of the shows which will get my vote. Do check this show.

  • Everybody is on the cloud now a days. So if you wanted to know all about Microsoft imageCloud this is the show. This covers the Microsoft Azure platform from features to tips n tricks. Currently at 36 episodes, this is hosted by Wade Wegner and Steve Marx.

    Here is the official description of the show:

Cloud Cover is your eye on the Microsoft Cloud. Join Wade and Steve as they cover the Windows Azure platform, digging into features, discussing the latest news and announcements, and sharing tips and tricks.
